What is bursting strength?
Bursting strength or burst resistance is a property of a plastic, paper or corrugated board -used in packaging- and is general a guide to the strength of that plastic, paper or corrugated board.
With a burst tester you define the pressure needed to burst a plastic, paper or paperboard.
A burst strength test also makes it possible to see and measure if nothing escapes from the package and if the sterile barriers maintain intact.
For the Belgian TV-program Volt, we even did burst resistance/burst strength tests on condoms. (See picture)
